My GO-TO Highlighters

Hello all,
Unlike my other posts, this one will probably mainly attract makeup enthusiasts.
A quick update about my blog - I've changed this blog from being just travel. I want to blog about my other interests too, such as fashion and beauty. (Read more about it on my about page).
Anyways, THIS will be my first ever beauty post and I'm pretty excited! I have come across SO many fashion and beauty blogs and it all just looked so fun. I was very inspired by classandglitter to start blogging about makeup.

So back to my go-to highlighters - I was actually pretty late in the highlight trend. I never understood the hype until I bought my first ever liquid highlighter - the Sun Beam by Benefit. This was quite a game changer for me, and I love to put highlighter on every time I do my makeup now! To be honest, I'm not very challenging when it comes to makeup so I stick to very similar colours.
My skin is yellow and medium toned (Indian), therefore I stick to my golden/bronze colours, rather than the white highlighters which would basically look like a bold white line across the high points of my cheek (not a good look).

Here are four of my favourite highlighters that I like to use (arranged by price):

1. Revolution - Strobe Highlighter (£3)

I just bought this recently (because it was 3 for 2 at Superdrug and I didn't know what else to add in) and I am honestly SHOCKED at how good this highlighter is. This highlighter is in the shade Gold Addict and it's the perfect golden highlighter! I would say that it may be a bit dark for lighter skinned people, but PERFECT for medium/tanned and darker skin tones. Also, can we emphasise the fact that it's only £3?! I can't wait to use this more!
You can find it here!

2. Colourpop - Super Shock Cheek ($8)

This is the Colourpop highlighter in the shade DO NOT DISTURB, however I must point out that this highlighter is sadly too dark for my skin tone! It's a shame because the colour is so nice! It's the perfect bronze highlighter and would look so good on darker skin tones - would really recommend this! My sister has one of these highlighters in the shade WISP and it's very long lasting! I just use it as an eyeshadow now. This product is sadly not available anymore, but you can find my of their highlighters here!

3. Benefit - Sun Beam - (£21.50)

This will probably be my all time favourite liquid highlighter. It's the perfect champagne-y colour and looks so good when you apply it! I like to put this first and then top it off with a powder highlighter that has the same shade. The shimmer illuminates so well when the light hits my face, and it's everything that want with a highlighter.
You can find it here!

4. Becca Cosmetics - Champagne Pop - (£32)

Many of you makeup enthusiasts are familiar with this product and just how GREAT it is! I am in love with highlighter - its pigmentation is AMAZING! With this product, a little bit goes a long way. Although it's more on the pricey side, it's definitely worth it. It is what the name says - champagne pop. It's the most perfect champagne shade which would definitely work on people with any skin tone!

You can find it here!

That's all I have for this post! I hope you liked my first beauty post! I just want to put out there I am not a makeup professional, it has just been a hobby since I was 16 (and have learnt a lot since then). Does anyone look back to when they first started putting makeup on, and think why on earth did I use that foundation/lipstick? Well that's definitely me. If only I could go back in time and change that ashy foundation...

Anyways, thank you for reading!
Happy highlighting :D
